The WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 in Wine is an internationally recognised wine course and one of the most popular available.
It’s a great course for any wine enthusiast or anyone starting out in the trade run. No prior knowledge is necessary and those who feel they know quite a bit learn lots too.
You’ll learn about the main types and styles of wine, evaluating them through sight, smell, and taste. You’ll also gain the skills to describe wines, and make food and wine pairings. Personal preference has a strong part to play in wine tasting and you should discover plenty about which are your favourites.
It’s fun as well as very informative and there’s lots of tasting to enjoy too. At the end there’s a multiple choice exam paper which will offer you an internationally recognised wine qualification and a WSET pin!
The cost is £150 which includes all literature, wine samples, examination and a certificate for those who are successful.
