FAQs

How long does it take to get to the Valle de Guadalupe? It is about a 2 hour drive from San Diego to the Valle.  The toll roads from Tijuana are well maintained and safe.  There are three tolls which are $2.05 each and can be paid in dollars or pesos.  We encourage you to purchase Mexican car insurance if you plan to drive yourself.  There is ample parking at Maglen Resort.  If you are taking a rental car across the border Avis has options for Mexican insurance.

How long does it take to cross the border to the US? We encourage you to check border wait times at cbp.gov  There are three border crossings in San Diego: San Ysidro, Otay Mesa and Tecate.  Before departing, check to see which has the shortest wait time.  If you are leaving Sunday, we encourage you to leave before 7 am to cross the border.  If you are leaving Monday we suggest leaving after 9 am to cross.

Are there Taxis or Ubers available in the Valle de Guadalupe? Unfortunately, taxis and Ubers are few and far between.  We suggest contacting the concierge at your hotel to arrange private transportation (very reasonable costs).  Please enjoy responsibly and plan ahead with a designated driver.

REMEMBER: PASSPORTS ARE REQUIRED TO CROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS!
