We will be tasting three wines from Heron Vineyards out of California. This is owned by a female winemaker, Laely Heron. The wines featured will be her Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Cabernet and are $14.99 each! You can purchase one, two or three bottles at Spirits Unlimited in Jackson or you can purchase none if you just want to join in and get the knowledge. If some of you are comfortable being together, you can share!
Laely Heron, one of California’s trailblazing winemakers, celebrates her 25 years of Heron Wines! Laely spent her childhood traveling the globe with her adventurer parents and went to college in Colorado where she had an opportunity to travel to France in her junior year. While in France, she found her passion for wine and enrolled at the Institute of Enology in Bordeaux. When she returned from France she became the first American employee of Australia’s Lindemans Wines, started a wine import company in Denmark, opened a restaurant, taught wine classes and began studies to become a master of wine. In 1995 she moved back to San Francisco to establish Heron Wines. Laely Heron has accomplished many things in her life and producing wines of exceptional value and quality is one of them!

Heron ‘California’ Pinot Noir 2018- 100% Pinot Noir | Sourced from Monterey, west side of Paso Robles, and Russian River Valley | Clonal material: Wadenswill & Pommard 4 | Vineyards are sustainably farmed | Harvested at night | 48 hours pre-fermentation cold soaking | Pump overs 3x a day until 10 brix then 2 times a day | Aged for 12 months in Frencois Frere medium toast neutral barrels | 13% abv
Heron ‘California’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2018- 100% Cabernet Sauvignon | Sourced from Mendocino County, Pope Valley and Clarksburg | 14-26-year-old average vines | 35% of the wine is aged in barrel | Aged a total of 8 months in new, one, and two year old French oak barrels |13.9%
