Join Aisling for an enjoyable evening of wine and modern calligraphy, set in the Humble Grape wine bar in Islington. The workshop offers a relaxed, welcoming environment which is suitable for complete beginners.
On arrival, guests will be served a glass of wine before Aisling opens the workshop and guides you through learning basic calligraphy strokes, forming lower case and upper case letters, then moving on to forming full words and phrases.
At the end of the workshop everyone will be able to write their name, a favourite quote and useful phrases for greeting cards. You will leave the workshop with your own handlettered greeting card or A5 calligraphy quote to frame and display at home or give as a gift. You will also take home your own calligraphy starter kit including nib, nib holder, ink, and practice sheets so that you can continue to practice your new skill.
Classes are limited to 10 people per session to ensure each guest gets tuition. Classes are suitable for right and left handed guests – Aisling herself is a leftie so she can offer valuable tips and insights for aspiring left-handed calligraphers.
**The 2.5hr workshop includes:**
– Calligraphy starter kit, including nib, nib holder, ink, and practice sheets which you can take home with you
– 2 hours of instruction, including one to one tuition from a practicing calligrapher
– Hard-backed envelope to safely take your practice sheets and card or A5 quote home with you
– 1/2 bottle of wine per person (approx)
**About Aisling**
Aisling discovered her love of modern calligraphy in 2016 and after countless hours of practice she opened her own Etsy shop to sell her modern calligraphy and watercolour illustrations. She has also been invited to sell her modern calligraphy at the 2018 Etsy Made Local curated Christmas Fair on December 2nd.
