How it Works:

  • Life’s complicated. We’ve been asked to stay in and avoid social gatherings, but we still need to make time for wine and friends. We’ll gather (virtually, of course) to enjoy a few wines, learn some new things, and have a whole lot of fun.

  • We’ll meet on Zoom. Once you’ve purchased a ticket here on Eventbrite (one ticket per house/computer), you’ll receive 2 emails. The first will be “10 Things to Know” about the virtual tasting. The second will arrive the day before the event and contain the Zoom meeting ID and password.

  • You purchase the wines from your local grocery store—I’ve made sure all are super-easy to find (I’m talking Target, Walmart, Publix, Kroger). However, if you can’t find one (or don’t want all of them), no worries—this won’t limit the fun or learning.

  • We’ll taste and talk about the wines together. It’s as simple as that!

About “Everything’s Coming Up Rosés”

  • Rosé has never been more popular. But not all rosés are created equal (you listening, White Zinfandel?!). We’ll look at how rosé is made, then sample a few from Old World and New World producers.

  • As your Obi-WINE Kenobi, I’ll explain how different wines are made and how to choose the right style for the right occasions. All in a fun, laid-back way designed to teach you how to defeat the dark side of wine intimidation.

Wines We’ll Taste:

  • Famille Perrin, Côtes Du Rhône Rosé, France ($13)

  • Gérard Bertrand, Côte des Roses, France ($15)

  • Matua, Pinot Noir Rosé, New Zealand ($11)

I specifically selected these wines because they’re all widely distributed and easy to find in most grocery stores.

Upcoming Virtual Tastings:

  • Saturday, 4/18: ABC (Anything But Chardonnay!) — Chardonnay may be the world’s most popular white wine, but that doesn’t mean it’s right for every occasion or the wine that’s right for you. I’ll shine the spotlight on a few of my favorite food- and budget-friendly alternatives.

  • Saturday, 5/2: ABC (Anything But Cab!) — Cabernet Sauvignon may be the world’s most popular red wine, but there are so many other full-bodied red wine options to explore. I’ll shine the spotlight on a few of my favorite budget-friendly alternatives.

  • Saturday, 5/30: “Desperately Seeking Chardonnay Forget that bombastic, oaky Napa-style Chardonnay. We’ll look at a few cool-climate, food-friendly styles, including one that’s unoaked.

  • Saturday, 6/13: “Off The Beaten Glass: South American Reds” — We’ll explore the fabulous red wines of Chile’s Pacific Ocean-influenced vineyards and Argentina’s high-elevation vineyards.
