Virtual Wine Event: Spectacular Spain

Map Unavailable

Date(s) - August 22, 2020
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We’ll look at three of the countries most important grapes: Albariño, Garnacha, and Tempranillo.

How it Works:

  • We’ll meet on Zoom. Once you’ve purchased a ticket here on Eventbrite (one ticket per house/computer), you’ll receive an email a couple of days before the event with info about foods to pair with the wines, and the Zoom meeting ID and password.

  • You purchase the wines from your local grocery store or wine shop—I’ve made sure all are super-easy to find. However, if you can’t find one (or don’t want all of them), no worries—this won’t limit the fun or learning.

  • We’ll taste and talk about the wines together. It’s as simple as that!

About “Spectacular Spain”

  • Spain is one of the world’s major wine-producing countries. We’ll dip our toes into the water by looking at three of the countries most important grapes: Albariño, Garnacha, and Tempranillo.

  • Guest: Certified Sommelier Carlos Cisneros.

  • All of the evening’s virtual tips benefit the Railroad Park Foundation—supporting a nationally recognized, 19-acre green space in the middle of downtown Birmingham.

Wines We’ll Taste:

  • Martin Códax, Albariño, Rias Baixas

  • Las Rocas, Garnacha, Calatayud

  • Montecillo, Rioja Crianza, Rioja

I specifically selected these wines because they’re all widely distributed and easy to find.
