Girl Gang Entertainment is a company committed to enriching the lives of black millennials and supporting small businesses while building community. With the second wave of shut downs due to COVID-19 we wanted to focus primarily on supporting local small businesses, specifically black owned businesses!
While brainstorming how to use our talents and address the needs of our community to have fun safely during this pandemic we came up with the idea of putting together a virtual wine pairing event. We decided to pair three wines with a 3 course soul food dinner of fried chicken or fried fish with an appetizer and dessert.
The event will take place Saturday December 19. The dinners will be provided by Brother’s Takeout Cafe and Catering (Black owned and operated). The wines will be provided by Paradise Wine Buffalo (local wine & spirits shop that specializes in small wineries that farm sustainably, organic or biodynamically). Desserts will be provided by Angel’s Taste of Heaven (Black owned and operated). It gets even better…the tasting and pairing will be facilitated by a Black DC based professional sommelier!
FAQ’s
How many bottles of wine do you get for each package?
Each package comes with 3 bottles of wine. Each wine pairs with one of the meal courses. (ex. For the “dolo ticket” you will have 3 bottles of wine to yourself. For the “Squad Package” you still only get 3 bottles of wine, you will just be splitting it with your friends/family)
How will I get my meal(s) and wine?
Dinner and wines will be available for pick-up the day of the event between 4pm-5:15pm to give you enough time to get home and hop on the zoom.
