On February 26th we will be tasting Pinot Noir grown in three parts of the world and learning more about their wine regions.
We will be tasting a Jadot Bourgogne Pinot Noir from the Burgandy region of France. Burgandy is the birthplace of Pinot Noir and considered the standard that the rest of the world compares itself to. The wine is available at Total Wine ($17.97) and many other wine retailers .
We will be traveling to New Zealand and taste Loveblock Pinot Noir ($25.99 at Total Wine after mix 6 discount, $19.99 at Costco) it is available at most wine retailers. Loveblock was founded by Erica and Kim Crawford after they sold their namesake winery. The Pinot is highly rated (93 Points from Wine Spector) and is one of the reasons that New Zealand is regarded as an up-and-coming region for Pinot Noir.
California is known for its Pinot Noir and an up-and-coming region in California is Santa Lucia Highlands. An outstanding example of wine from the region is S.L.H. Pinot Noir Estate from Hahn Wine Company. This flavorful and approachable Pinot is available nationally. $17.09 at Total Wine after mix 6 discount.
The tasting is free to attend, although donations are gladly accepted.
Hope you can join us!
