Want to better understand Italian wines? Curious how to best pair them with food? Sign up for this event led by a certified Italian-trained sommelier who has spent over a decade living, eating and drinking through Italy!
Via Zoom in a small group of other tasters, I’ll lead you through a cultural food & wine pairing experience in a fun, interactive small-group format.
How it works: Upon booking, I’ll send you a list of wines we’ll taste (2- one white and one red) and some nibbles to pair. If you would like to book the event out as a private tasting, we can bespoke the tasting to either work with the Italian wines you have on hand or I can help with wine ordering/deliveries.
During the tasting hour, we’ll zoom through wine tasting basics, Italian wine geography, how to properly open a wine bottle, which foods would pair best, what makes each of these wines special including the historic curiosities and stories being each producer.
Participants will be sent tasting sheets via e-mail. This online tasting will give you memorable useful info not just about Italian wines, but also how to pair pasta and wine, and better understanding technical terms i.e. full bodied, mineral vs fruit forward, high/low acidity, terroir, biodynamic/natural/organic wines, sweet vs dry, tannin, corked, when and when not to decant, etc
This online session is perfect for Italian wine lovers of any level and provides a virtual tour through the Italian wine country as we can’t currently travel.
