While Vintage Port is often considered the flagship of a Port House, Tawnies also command respect and achieve incredible complexity from decades of maturation in the winery and the art of blending. Come explore a full range of 10 Years Old, 20 Years, 30 Years Old and even 40 Years Old Tawnies through 2 iconic Port house in the name of Dow’s and Taylor’s.

Symington (Graham’s)

The Symington family, whose Port houses also include Graham’s, Warre’s, Cockburn’s, Dow’s and Quinta do Vesuvio, is to the Douro Valley what the Rothschilds are to Bordeaux. While the Symingtons are one of the pioneers of the Douro table wine movement, it’s still their Ports that set the tone for the great quality of the winemaking here, not to mention their amazing array of vineyards. Most probably know the family for their phenomenal vintage Ports, but they also make fantastic tawny Ports.

Taylor’s

One of the great names in Port, Taylor’s forms part of the The Fladgate Partnership group together with the houses of Fonseca and Croft. The Port shipper has revolutionized the trade in approach and quality in the category. It was the first to commercialize Late Bottled Vintage Port, and, more importantly, it was the first to bottle single estates (quintas) in excellent but undeclared years – particularly Taylor’s Quinta de Vargellas. The classic Taylor’s vintage Port, a blend of top grapes from all its various quintas is hard to beat, but the special wood-aged Ports such as those served today are also highly prized by Port aficionados and distinctly unique.
