Rosé wine is made all over the world and is a go-to in summer thanks to its fresh and delicious character, but there is no better region than Provence to find outstanding examples. Often misunderstood, it is one of the most delicate styles to produce. Come and discover why Château d’Esclans and Domaine Ott are masters of this style and learn how to appreciate serious rosés.

You will taste six wines from different areas that showcase finesse and diversity.

Featured Producers

Château d’Esclans

Chateau d’Esclans makes one of the greatest rosés on Earth, proving that rosé is more than a simple quaff on a hot summer’s night. Founder and co-owner Sacha Lichine had the foresight to believe that a high-end rosé could compete with the best wines in the world, and with the help of Founding Consulting Oenologist, the late Patrick Leon, they produced wines that did just that. Chateau d’Esclans makes various rosés and they represent outstanding quality at various price levels. The estate is perfectly situated in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez.

Domaines Ott

Few wineries have done as much as Domaine Ott, a winery in Provence with a vaulted history, to raise the reputation of rosé as a wine of class and pedigree. Indeed, it is often argued that Cotes de Provence owes its success as a source of the world’s top rosés to Marcel Ott, the founder of Domaines Ott who moved to the region in 1896. These are full-bodied, fresh and sometimes mineral rosés, that mark this type of wine as worthy of serious contemplation.
