Join us for an incredibly rare opportunity to taste a vertical of Bruno Giacosa – one of Piemonte’s most renowned and revered producers – with world-acclaimed wine critic James Suckling himself. James has been tasting wines from Italy for more than four decades and has been visiting the country regularly since 1983 when he first traveled across Italy with a group of US wine merchants. As many of you know he has a home not far from Florence, and usually I try to visit at least once or twice a year.

Bruno Giacosa is a renowned figure in Piemonte. The single parcel Barolo, Falletto Vigna Le Rocche, is a representation of the complexity and quality of one of the best sites in the region. This collectible cuvée is made from the oldest nebbiolo vines of a single plot, making wines that are intense, complex and capable of ageing for decades. Led by James Suckling in person, discover how each unique vintage speaks through the wine by covering a vertical of 6 vintages from the gracious 2012 to the warmer 2017 vintage, the latest release.

Guests will be treated to an artisan cheese and charcuterie platter to round off the evening and will be welcome with an aperitivo.

Guests may decide to stay on and have dinner after at James Suckling Wine Central and sample Chef Albert’s incredible wine-friendly food, including the delicious Organic Yellow Brick Chicken, USDA Prime Petit Tender Beef Tataki or his insanely creamy Rigatoni Alla Cabonara.

When Bruno Giacosa died in January 2018, the wine world lost one of its maestros. Even at nearly 90 years old, Giacosa remained dedicated to producing amazing red wines. Legend has it that he knew the Langhe region of Piedmont so well, he could tell the quality of a vineyard simply by tasting the grapes. Now run by Bruno’s daughter Bruna, the estate still makes wines of such impeccable depth and finesse that they are easily comparable with the best of Burgundy; James sometimes likens Bruno Giacosa’s incredible Barolos and Barbarescos to the reds of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.
