– About the Cork & Fork connection to the Champagne region and Champagne Lanson:
Founder of Cork & Fork, Dominique Landragin, was born in Verzenay, a village where his family established vineyard ownership since 1772. Dominique’s father was the vineyard manager for Champagne Veuve Clicquot and held a management position at Champagne Heidsieck Monopole before creating his own label, Champagne Landragin, Récoltant Manipulant. Dominique worked his first harvest at 11 and knew then his calling was in wine. He studied winemaking in Avize and Beaune, as well as in Bulgaria and Bordeaux. His positions included vineyard management for Champagne Lanson and Champagne Deutz. He was head winemaker for Domaine de l’Aulée in the Loire Valley before moving to Australia where he assumed the role of Chief Sparkling Winemaker for Seppelt & Sons Great Western in Victoria. From there, Dominique co-founded Yellowglen, created Champagne Landragin Australia, consulted for Elders, Mildara, Peter Lehmann, Tyrrells, and Yarra Burn, as well as acting flying winemaker between Verzenay and Victoria. Dominique moved to the USA where he took the position as Winemaker and President of Prince Michel Vineyards in Virginia.
